What actually is Poker Hunters?
It's a car-based poker run. Your team follows a trail of clues to hidden checkpoints across the area, picking up a playing card at each stop. By the final checkpoint you'll have a hand of cards — whoever's built the best poker hand wins the day.
Do we need to know how to play poker?
Absolutely not. The poker theme works as a method of scoring really, and allows us to use playing cards at the clue locations - they're small and easier to hide ;) We'll provide you with a scoring rank sheet so you can see how well you're doing during the hunt, but there's no need to be an expert card shark!
How many people can take part?
Each car takes 2 to 5 people. There must be one designated driver, and one named navigator for the event. The event is limited to 12 teams/cars.
How much does it cost?
£25 per car, per event. Pre-payment upon booking is required will full refunds given for cancellations 48hrs prior to the event.
Are the clues hard?
Hmmm... Most are picture clues, with screenshots taken from Google Maps. Of course, we might hide the road names on a few - we don't want it to be too easy. But it's at a level where everyone can enjoy themselves.
Do we have to answer all the clues?
No, although we'll be impressed if you do! It's actually impossible to get to every location in the time allowed so your job is to answer clues, plan a provisional route, and start hunting. You only need to find five cards to make up a poker hand but the more you find the better chance you have of making a better hand. Of course, if you find four aces and a King straight off, it's pretty safe to say your job is done!

Do we need to book in advance?
Yes — Our events our quite popular so you will need to sign up and prepay before the event. Head to our sign-up page and let us know your preferred date and how many of you are coming. We'll get back to you to confirm.
What do we need to bring?
Just your car, your crew, and a smartphone with WhatsApp installed. We have a limited number of Ordnance Survey maps of the area available to hire on the day, but they're not a requirement. With the advent of smartphones and Google Maps you need nothing else, but some find convential maps easier to see the bigger picture.
Do we need additional insurance?
No. The cover you have on your car will be suitable for the event. We have an average speed limit for the event of 30mph. It's not a race, and driving fast has no bearing on the result whatsoever.
Is it suitable for families?
Yes — it's designed to be easy to pick up and genuinely fun for a family outing, a get-together with mates, or anyone after a few hours of clue-cracking fun.
Is it a race? Do we have to rush around?
Absolutely not. The event lasts for three and a half hours and you are only allowed to cover 105 miles as a maximum. The trick is to solve the clues and pick the most efficent route you can to give you enough time to get back. If you exceed this mileage cap, you will be disqualified, and that sucks.
What areas do you cover?
